Information on Pet Boarding
Pet boarding is available for times when you are going to be leaving your home overnight or longer. If you can't take your pets with you, you will want to leave them where they will be comfortable taken care of. If you haven't boarded your pets before, then this short guide on pet boarding will help you learn about the process of boarding your pets and why it is a good idea to do so.
Don't wait until the last minute
As soon as you know that you are going to be boarding your pets, you want to make a call to the boarding facility and get those dates saved for your pets. Certain times of the year, such as summers and holidays, can fill up quickly. Letting the boarding facility know the dates as soon as possible gives you peace of mind that your spot is reserved during the dates that you needed your pets boarded.
Make sure your pets are up to date on their vaccinations
When you bring your pets in to be boarded, you will need to bring in proof of their current vaccinations. You don't want to find out at the last minute that your pets can't stay because their vaccinations have fallen behind. Make sure you get them in for their boosters with plenty of time to spare, and remember to bring your pets' records in with you to show the boarding facility.
Go out of town knowing your pets are safe
When you leave your pets at home while you go out of town, you will worry about them being alone. You may have left them with enough food and water to last until you get home. However, they might accidentally spill their water bowl and be left without any more until you return. Also, you may figure they can go in and out the doggy door to go to the bathroom. But if they dig a hole under the fence or it becomes damaged another way, your pets could end up getting out of your backyard and be lost for days before you return home. There are many scenarios in which your pets may not be properly cared for while home alone. Taking your pets to a pet boarding facility gives you peace of mind, knowing they are cared for and nothing will happen to them while you are out of town.
